Gluten Free Cinnamon Rolls

I make these cinnamon rolls every year around the holidays. The recipe was given to me by my mother-in-law but I put my own spin on them! Huckleberry, Santa Monica (sometimes a girl just needs eggs)

I typically stick to a vegan diet 90% of the time but sometimes I just crave eggs. This morning I had breakfast at my favorite spot, Huckleberry in Santa Monica. Know for homemade breads, pastries and savory food. Everything served at Huckleberry is made on site using the best quality ingredients. Let’s just say the doughnuts are a must!!! My all time favorite dish is the Quinoa, butternut squash, and kale topped with two sunny side up eggs. Today I tried the poached eggs over fresh market vegetables with pesto and toasted bread crumbs. Everything at Huckleberry is absolutely amazing and they offer so many vegetarian options. Once you try Huckleberry visit their other restaurant Rustic Canyon another favorite of mine.   RUSTIC CANYON SNEAK PEAK:

Le Pain Quotidien has vegan options!

I went to Le Pain last week and I noticed they added quite a few vegan options to their menu. I have always loved going to Le Pain because they have such delicious organic breads. The wheat, rye, spelt, five-grain, & walnut are all vegan.  They added V = Vegan symbol next to all vegan menu items, I tried the tofu scramble and it was pretty tasty, they did send out butter with my bread (which is soooo NOT vegan) but hey I am glad more restaurants are trying. It is a step in the right direction in my opinion. If more restaurants offered vegetarian & vegan options maybe more people would eat healthy 🙂

M Street Kitchen, Santa Monica

Fresh, Organic, & Seasonal……. that is M Street Kitchen in a nutshell! My boyfriend Chris introduced me to La Grande Orange in Pasadena when we first started dating (this is the sister restaurant to M Street Kitchen) , I immediately fell in love with their vegetarian grain and nut burger and of course the house made, fresh juice margarita is a must. After moving to the west side we still made the drive out to Pasadena for our weekly LGO fix! (that is how good this place is) when M Street Kitchen opened in Santa Monica we were enthused and we immediately became regular diners. Although the menu is slightly different both restaurants are wonderful. We had brunch at M Street Kitchen with a friend over the weekend, I usually stick to my spicy commuter  sandwich or Venice beach burrito but something else on the menu caught my eye! The Root vegetable hash which has butternut squash, fennel, celery root, beets, tarragon aioli, and poached eggs. For a vegetarian dish I must say it was so rich and …
